THIS MORNINGS COUNTRY MIX DISCUSSION ON LITTER
Listening to Country Mix's article on the state of our approach roads, particlulary Dublin Airport Road, I have recently approached by email FINGAL CO COUNCIL offering to put together a leaflet which I would then distribute in my own Estate (to start with), the local shops etc encouraging people NOT to litter and to clean up litter around their areas as I do and asking their environment section if they could perhaps supply me with graphics, artwork whatever that I am sure they already have for litrature in order to help me to put this leaflet together. TODATE I have not even had a reply acknowleding my email.
Fingal Co Council DO have wardens who I have yet to see. Perhaps if these people have no power, then money spent employing them would be better spent puting up cameras on this airport roads etc in order to catch the culprits. I would like to know what precisely Fingal Co Co are spending the money allocated to them on, it is certainly NOT on cleaning up. I am more than happy to support a HUGE CAMPAIGN against litter but yet again I dont see them doing this.
