A chara, I'm Brian, and I had the opportunity to spend a bit of time in Swords last June.
I was on the tail end of a journey to Paris, Dublin, and Belfast. On my last full day in Ireland, I came down by bus from Belfast, and I was going to be cheap, and sit at the airport until my flight back to Chicago the next morning. However, between the effects of my previous evening at Kelly's Cellars in Belfast, and the unholy condition of the waiting area at Dublin Airport, I opted for a hotel close by. A desk clerk then directed me to Swords, which was a pleasant 15 minute walk to the city centre. I wandered around, checking out some older buildings, had dinner in one pub, and caught a Gaelic Games match btw Meath and Dublin at another. A thoroughly pleasant end to my holiday!
I hope to visit again. In three weeks I'm making a permanent move to Australia (I'm in the States now), so I have a bit adjusting and settling in to do, but after that...can't wait! slan, Brian |
